Telugu Blogs Day — 2nd Sunday of December

This year’s Telugu Blogs Day is on Sunday, 14th of December. If you are in Hyderabad, you can join us in e-Telugu meeting.

Telugu Blogs Day is celebrated to encourage the spread and growth of Telugu blogs. The idea of Blogs Day was started in 2007 as the TeluguBlog group crossed 1,000 members in December of that year.

Opera web browser now available in Telugu

Opera Software relesead the latest version of their web browser, Opera 9.6, especially to meet the needs of Indain market.

New in this version is Telugu localization, in addition to Hindi and Tamil. Here is a screen shot of Telugu Opera (click on the image for a bigger version):

Localizing into Telugu, on the web

Typing Unicode Telugu using other keyboard layouts

There are many keyboard layouts and transliteration schemes to Type in Telugu. Many of users who type Telugu on computers use proprietary encodings and keyboard layouts like Modular, Apple, and Roma. If they have a way to type in Telugu in Unicode using the layout they are familiar with, it would boost the usage of Telugu on the Web specifically and on computers generally.
